Well, it has finally hit me this week that we are going to actually live in this 27' rv for a whole year or more. Eek!! I am super excited, but I got so nervous today. This limbo time is killing me. I want to get on the road, but there is still much to do. We will move the mattresses in this week, so we will be sleeping in the RV by this weekend!
We have been decorating and such. The walls are much nicer than they were when we bought her ( I need to name this damn rig. I can't keep using a pronoun) We have put up some paper lanterns and pics on the wall. One of my favorite things is that i decided it would be cool to go crazy in the bathroom. I was inspired by a bathroom in a cafe in Felton, CA. Anyway, I have so many postcards saved up from years past. I started putting the postcards on the wall and it was magic. We can cover the whole damn wall with postcards!! Woohoo. Now if the kiddos want to buy something in those crazy gift shops , we can say, " hey, pick out a crazy postcard and we will tape it to the bathroom wall." It is a plan.
We also started bumperstickering ( a verb?) the outside of the RV. The Rv is plain white and it needed some life. I have always wanted to be one of those freaks who had a million bumper stickers on their car, but I was always a little chicken. Plus, my Dad is a car dealer and he always said " don't sticker your car up, it decreases the value..." So, I never really did more than a sticker, maybe two if I was feeling wild.
Well, this rig is going to be sticker nutty. Why the hell not? We started with a NH and a VT sticker, paying tribute to the hood. Then, we put up a Mystery Spot sticker that I have had for about 15+years. We will pick up funny stickers while on the road and sticker away.
Coltrane and Emmett really want Calvin and Hobbes represented on the RV somewhere, so i am going to either try my best or enlist a student artist to paint us the pair somewhere.
Things are coming together. It feels good.

We always have the kids pick out postcards as their souvenir; they're cheap, they usually have a picture relevant to the experience along with the name of the place, and they fit nicely in the scrapbook along with other pictures I've taken if I remembered the camera... doh!
