Well, we were driving through Aberdeen last week and had read that finally the town had erected a small park and monument to Kurt Cobain. I really didn't know what to expect. We were all pleasantly surprised. It was subdued and mellow and in an amazing location. It was at the bridge where he lived and the bridge that was showcased in "something in the way ". There was a concrete guitar monument and one board with the lyrics to the aforementioned song. There were a couple of benches on the wishkah river and one granite slab with some Kurt quotes. It is a very small park, about a block from the house he grew up in. Under the bridge there was artwork, poems, messages etc from visitors from all over the world. It was powerful to be where he hung out as a child and teenager. It was also pretty sad. Here are some pics.
